A gumnut fairy and her brother

Currently this has to be my favourite picture of the kids – it truly captures their spirit as two little rascals. Holly is a gumnut fairy as I had 3 days to design a ‘Australian’ themed costume for her summer concert. There is not really an Australian national costume that I could think of that would work for a little girl – Crocodile Dundee or a Digger is not very cute! So as Holly loves fairies, a gum nut fairy came to mind. Making the skirt was a lot of fun with hand sewing and my newest investment a hot glue gun and I knitted the little gum nut hat in green and gold – in the Aussie colours!
