The inspiration behind this dress was the new Star Wars film. I was checking out Reys costume and the stitch detailing on one of her outfits with the high collar! Now I am thinking of adding the collar back to this dress. For this dress, I added a quilted stitch detail to the sleeves of this dress. The fabric on the skirt is very 1980s and reminded me of Star Wars I think as it has brown and black in the pattern. In the end I wore it to teach Arts Focus last Thursday and as it was a minimum day and we scored free tennis racquets from a friend – we went down to the tennis court, and talk it up like yeah! Oops sorry, that is a Lorde song in my head… My kids and I rode our bikes down to the courts and played tennis for an hour or so – what a great workout chasing the ball! So it turns out those pockets on the skirt are the perfect size to hold a tennis ball – I just have to remember that next time I play tennis I wear sneakers, not boots!!
Is that a tennis ball in your pocket??
Sleeve detail – now give me my phone back and no close up pics!
Our bathroom project is finally complete and with great thanks to my friend and interior designer Joana for her design and recommendations of ideas for the spaces. We all love the bathrooms very much and I am so determined to keep them clean and beautiful!
