A piece a Week – A dress for the trunk show and the season!

Last week was another doozy! I only stayed at home only one night the whole week and I had something each night after school, boy it was exhausting. On top of it all I had to make inventory for the show on Saturday here is a picture of my table and the current stock – yay!
At the Beehive Co-op holiday show!
Here is literally the bottom of the dress 🙂 I made this week for the show – I like the shadows of the basil flowers on my legs. This is some fabric my friend from Germany gave me, it is a lovely light corduroy print.

Back side of the dress

The dress as a whole is a top made of a light wool felt and is fab with a top underneath. Tunics are just the thing for me at the mo!

Oh and the tunic has lined pockets too with a different striped fabric I used in the infinity scarf I made last week.
Got my hands in my pockets looking for some change?!?
While I was out taking pics today my little kitty came by to say hello and I could not resist the flowers in my garden.

NaBloPoMo – Day 13 – Box of Trinkets

Today I had my full work day of a good 4 hours of solid time to get my inventory done for the upcoming Trunk Show this Saturday the 16th! If you would like to come visit this site for an invite…

Anyway I managed to get my last couple of pieces complete and ironed and photographed for inventory pics. I love to put on Pandora and listen to music while I work away – today it was the Lamb station with lots of Bjork thrown in for good measure. I love listening to Bjork there are many memories of good times from my home back in Melbourne!

The picture of my box of trinkets are little pins I have made either for a lapel or for your hair. There are silk ones and also ribbon ones sewn together to make a flower. They are fun to make and easy when you have a glue gun and felt handy. I have another show at my kiddos elementary school next week so it is go, go, go at the moment in between doing my usual volunteering at school. The Thanksgiving break will be something I am looking forward to – as every week just seems to fly by with the amount of work I am fitting in each day. To keep busy is great but then I think what happened to my garden and my house when there is so much to do… I suppose that is on the ‘To Do’ list for another day!

I found a wooden cigar box at FabMo last week and that is going to be the trinket box

NaBloPoMo – Day 5 – Infinite number of loops

Today is my workday at home in the craft room and I am making some stock for the upcoming trunk show I will be having next week. I have been discovering some interesting prints around the place and making them into scarves. As scarves are a favourite accessory of mine I figure they make great gifts 🙂 with the holiday season just around the corner – I cannot believe it is November already.

Finding the time to get this done has been a bit tricky with crazy stuff like some one trying to steal my car on the weekend – totally random things out of my control that happen! The car would not start as the ignition was jammed with a screwdriver?!? Anyway the local police tell me that the reason there is a spike in crime is due to the non violent offenders out on the street trying to get their next hit. Everyone lock your doors and be extra vigilant. Hey it may be time to get some new wheels, who knows??

So here are my scarves all together hanging on my mannequin.
